The Home and School Association of Most Blessed Sacrament is dedicated to following our mission and serving others just as Jesus did.
Mission of Home and School Association
To promote communication, good will, and a spirit of Christianity among parents, faculty, administrators, the Council of Education, and the parish.
To provide leadership and coordination of activities for the purpose of service, fundraising, educational programs, and special functions.
To be a resource for information regarding actions that affect Catholic schools as well as the lives of students and parents.
To assist the school in the implementation of its established goals and objectives as defined in the school handbook.
A Message from Home and School Association
We have a large number of committees through Home & School that parents are encouraged to join. Some events that are sponsored by the MBS Home & School are Grandparents’ Day, Walk-a-Thon, School Dances, and Pelican Games. A detailed list of committees and their committee chairs can be found here on our site. Through these events and our Home and School Fundraisers we are able to purchase items like Courtyard Stations of the Cross, New Bleachers, Chromebooks, and coming Summer of 2017 an Outdoor Classroom!
We believe that our child’s education is strengthened through our commitment of time and through our sharing of our talents with others. All parents are automatically enrolled as members of the Home & School Association. As a part of our commitment to Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, parents commit themselves to thirty hours of time and talent to be given to the school and/or church each year. Guidelines to logging those hours can be found here. More information regarding church ministries can be found here.
We also follow the policies of the Diocese Office of Child Protection. Please keep in mind that volunteering at an MBS function, with our children, requires the completion of a LA State Police background check, fingerprints, and online certification via the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. For more information, please contact Beverly Peterson with the MBS Office of Child Protection.
